  • After graduating from Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, Kirk served as a quarterback for the Ohio State University football team as a senior. After John Cooper was recognized as the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes in 1988, Kirk became the team’s first dedicated player. Over the next five years, Kirk established himself as one of the team’s top players and became the four-time winner. During his tenure, he followed Greg Frey and Kent Graham, and led the team in 1992. He was named MVP of the 1992 season.
