There is now a new tourist attraction in the US, for not only the ones living in the country but for the ones who are visiting from abroad. A good number of these people include the movie fans and the Instagrammers and their destination is alike; the staircase located at the 167th Street of the Bronx borough in New York City.” This is the place where the currently trending actor named Joaquin Phoenix celebrated his becoming of The Clown Prince of Crime as Arthur Flex.
The Bronx is already a popular tourist destination with its Yankee Stadium, The Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Gardens. But now with the stairs from the movie “The Joker’ has definitely topped them all. The place is being visited by locals and tourists alike in masses each day.
Connecting both the Anderson and the Shakespearean Avenues at the West 167th Street; these stairs were never that popular before. However, things have certainly changed seeing all the photos that are emerging of the people hanging around these stairs. Some of these photos depict people even wearing the dress and makeup of the iconic villain The Joker.
As for the locals of the area, they are not happy with this fan mania. A 29-year-old man named Jonathan Francis, who has lived for his entire life in this neighborhood, said to media, “We hope it ends soon because we don’t need this. We feel disrespected.”
The #Jokerstairs has already led to the posting of over 900 photos of people on these stairs. These stairs were also added recently on Google Maps as the ‘Religious Site’.
A student of psychology named Ignacio who has visited these stairs said that he really enjoyed watching the movie. But he said that the staircase did not exactly in person quite like it felt watching in the movie.
The movie titled “the Joker” itself has grossed about 737 million dollars so far and is now expected to pas the ark of 810+ million dollars in its global earnings. There are speculations that the movie’s gross earnings won’t stop until it hits the mark of 900+ million dollars, which ill make it the biggest R-rated movie In history.
