The story of the anime series Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic starts in a fantasy world with a young man of name Alibaba. Alibaba is living his life barely as a laborer. One day, as Alibaba is living his daily laborer life, his shipment is broken into by a little boy named Alladin. Now one thing in the story links up with another and some slaves are involved and one of these slaves turns out to be the main character. This slave is a female that goes by the name of Morgiana. Now Alladin and Alibaba have to team up with each other and to take down the dungeon in their town. The first book of this series is all about taking down dungeons. These dungeons are actually massive tower-like buildings that have been built by creatures unknown and scattered all across the land. There is also a rumor that whoever conquerors these dungeons will be the future king of the world. at the very top end of these dungeons, the dungeon winner will be gifted with not only untold riches but also with a Genie. This genie will be able to grant them magical powers of significant nature.
The twist in the story comes when Alladin, for reasons unknown, has his own genie. The name of this genie is Eponymous Maggie, which is a being that is able to use magic at will and has the greatest power in the world as compared to any other being well except for the other Magi.
In addition to all of this, Genie himself has a genie and is also surprisingly a friend of the Magi. So, he along with Alladin and Alibaba conquerors the dungeons of the world with some troubles. Alibaba, along with the slave Morgiana they picked up and Alladin set up for a journey towards Journey. All of these guys have no clear aim or goal for living. But what they know is to live their lives one day at a time and as simply as they can.
The Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic anime series is a result of the efforts by A-1 Pictures and they offered the series with clean action and strong use of the effects with very minimal amount of CGI effects. The Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Season 1 was first aired back in October of 2012 on the Viz Media. Each fight scene in the season was fast, expressive and had vibrance to it which matches appropriately with the sound effects and the according scenes. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is a Shonen series that has a slight political bend to it despite the fact there are many times when characters fight with one another.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Season 1 Storyline:
The series Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic shows a little bit of everything from the medieval era like slavery, Royal Succession, territorial conquest, economics, societal revolutions, military strategy, etc. the first season of the Magi ends with the trio of main characters having some good time on their adventures, which is clearly a happy ending. Then Morgiana and Alladin unexpectedly meet up with a naked man whose name is Sindbad. Sinbad is also the first dungeon captuerer and now is apparently the king of this Island country named Sindria.
Sinbad is not only the king of Sindria but also a world innovator and the Intentional Alliance Head. He also happens to be the president for one of the most powerful global trading companies.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Season 2 Storyline:
The Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic 2nd Season simply an improvement in terms of the sound effects and overall animation. The 2nd season is a tight one that is focused primarily on the story unlike the first season that was more about character establishment. This character establishment was also necessary as viewers need to be introduced and explained to each character in the story. The 2nd season also introduces us to more characters that help the story move along from the previous one.
The first season indeed had many episodes that were inside of the dungeons but 2nd season seems to push away from this storyline. Instead, this 2nd season actually has lots of wars and the war scenes are quite fun as one enjoys seeing people manipulating each other with schemes and of course there is the supporting violence.
The battle scales of some battles in the 2nd season is too massive and every established character in the series gets to take part in them. For example, Alladin at one point lives with a tribe named Koga.
The writer and illustrator of Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is Shinobu Ohtaka. The first volume for the series was launched back on 3rd June 2009. The storyline of this series is majorly based on the stories from 1001 Arabian Nights. The tales chosen for this series are mostly the tales of the characters like Sinbad the Sailor, Alladin, and Alibaba. But the spirit of Arba turns towards Sinbad who with others reach the Second palace. This is the residing palace for Ugo and by defeating him they claim the ownership for the Palace.
All the characters in this series are quite good with an exquisite plot that comes with great music befitting to each scene perfectly. the music composer for this series is Shiro Segi Soo. So for those of you who love the Shonen Anime genre, you will love this series. This show is quite similar to the ones like Full Metal Alchemist, and Hunter X Hunter.
