The battle between the PewDiePie and T-Series, Youtube channels has been going on for a long time for the “Most Subscribed” channel. Since the rivalry began, a few months have already been passed.
T-Series, the Bollywood music channel was supposedly going to take the crown off of PewDiePie channel, for being the most subscribed channel on Youtube back in October. Now several months since October has been passed and this rivalry between PewDiePie and T-Series, is still ongoing. This I all thanks to another Youtube channel named “Flare TV” which is a year old account that has been airing the rivalry between the two channels nonstop in form of a lives stream.
Start of Flare TV:-
The channel started airing this rivalry live stream back on September 1st, 2018. It has helped the fans of both channels fan the fire of the subscriber race been the supporters of both Youtube channels. Thousands of people are watching this stream nonstop at any given time of the day.
The live stream of Flare TV does nothing more than preview the updated subscriber numbers of each channel. The main feature of the Flare TVs’ live stream features the latest ‘diss’ rap song from PewDiePie about T-Series titled “Bitch Lasagna” plays nonstop in the background.
The most important metric of the videos, which is showcased in the lower third of the video, is a separate ticker. This special ticker actually displays the current subscriber gap between both PewDiePie and T-Series. Whenever these numbers decline, the Flare TVs’ lives stream actually sees a huge spike in its viewer count.
The channels creators told media, “The very first time when the subscriber count between the PewDiePie and T-Series got to around 20000, the live stream at that moment had actually the current viewer count of about 70000 viewers. That was the time when the live stream was at its highest viewer peak.”
Account Owners:-
The creators of the Flare TV did not tell their identities to tech media but they did reveal that there are actually two creators of the channel. In addition to these two creators, the channel also was made possible with a partnership made with a private server company which takes the responsibility of hosting the stream. The company is also responsible for providing a small team of editors and designers.
Flare TV and a Competitive Social Media trend:-
Due to Flare TVs’ nonstop 24/7 Youtube Streaming, the channel has helped produce a competitive atmosphere for the social media stats of both channels’ subscribers as well.
The creators told tech media, “During this time of live steaming, people who were viewing the live stream were encouraging other people in live chat to share this stream and tell others to only subscribe PewDiePie. We are also certain that a lot of PewDiePie subscriber gain is all thanks to the live stream and live chat.”
Flare TV’s Unbiased Stand:-
In YouTube’s live chat of the Flare TV, the majority of the viewers are staunch supporters of the PewDiePie and they also share the concern whenever the gap with T-Series start to dwindle down. Although Flare TV is aware of the favoritism of the viewers mostly for PewDiePie channel, the channel itself still maintains an unbiased stand between these two rival channels.
Flare TV’s creator told media, “back in August we were certain that PewDiePie was most likely to surpass T-Series in this subscriber race. Back then, there were also no live streams or videos covering this topic as well. This is when we both decided to create and start a live stream as soon as possible. Our goal was to provide the fans of both channels a platform where they can express their support for each channel.”
PewDiePie and T-Series; both gained immense rewards from Flare TV:-
Due to this rivalry, and thanks to the live streaming service of Flare TV, both PewDiePie and T-Series have reaped immense rewards a well. Both of these channels have raked in millions of new subscribers each month since the start of the rivalry. This rivalry, particularly, got intense when Felix Kjellberg (aka PewDiePie) actually posted a video where he warned people that T-Series was going to catch up to his subscriber count soon. In the last 1 month, both channels have gained 5 million new subscribers.
PewDiePie and T-Series, not the only one to reap the rewards:-
While both PewDiePie and T-Series have gained huge rewards as the result of this rivalry, they are not the only one to have done so.
Flare TV Creators said, “Before the stream, our channel was continuously uploading new videos on daily basis but still the cannel was going at a steady and slow pace of 200-300 subscribers daily. When we started the live stream, the cannel at that time had 12000 subscribers. Now, after the live stream, the channel now boasts a massive 1000000 subscribers and the channel is now increasing by 5000 subscribers per day. Some of these days are the peak days when the subscriber rate goes up to 20000 subscribers.”
Flare TV suffering Youtube Copyright Strike:-
The original Flare TV’s PewDiePie and T-Series live stream, which lasted for more than 100 days, had about 116 million views before it was removed under YouTube’s Copyright policy of “accidental copyright strike.”
However, the strike was removed by the provider. Flare TV creators said, “The strike was removed by the provider after some time and the live stream was once again reinstated.”
Flare TV; Revenue:-
According to the creators of Flare TV, the cannel is obviously monetized by the creators refrained from disclosing the original revenue. However, a social analytic site titled “SocialBlade” made an estimate that the Flare TV channel could be making an estimated revenue of 6 figures per year.
In addition to this, Flare TV’s live chat feature also has the YouTube’s “Super Chat” feature. This feature alone is a revenue stream for the channel as it allows viewers to pay the channel for highlighting heir live chat comments.
