Nowadays more and more of the electronic devices are coming with water resistant abilities and this now includes the Apple Watch. Unless a person owns the first generation of the Apple Watch, they can now wear their Apple Watch in the shower as well as wear it while taking a swim in the pool or the lake. Also, do not worry about the sweat dripping on the watch as the watch is resistant against that too.
Apple Watches are now not only resistant to water damage but they also have the ability to now expel any of the water that tends to get inside of it.
Today we present to our readers a how-to guide for swimming with the Apple Watch and then drying it out.
Sealing the Apple Watch against the water damage:-
In order to seal your Apple Watch against the water damage, the user needs to seal it. For this purpose follow the following steps.
- First, you need to open the watch’s Command Center. For this step, do a swipe action for the Watch’s bottom.
- Now scroll up or downward by the methods like rotating the Digital Crown or by flicking on the screen of the watch with the finger. Do this until there appears an icon of Water Drop on the screen. Now tap it.
- At this point, there will occur a series of functions such as the Watch sealing the speakers and microphone along with the screen to stop responding to the swipes and taps.
After getting out of the water, the user needs to rotate the digital crown again. This will prompt the watch to make a few beeps and then expel out any water that might have gotten inside the microphone or the speakers. After this, the screen will be reactivated.
In addition to this, the Apple Watch tends to seal itself automatically if the activity monitor of the watch senses that the user is swimming. To unlock the watch, the user needs to rotate the crown.
Warnings:-
While Apple Watch is water-resistant, it still is not fully waterproofed. The watch can only handle the lower water depths like in scuba diving or the higher force of water like in water skiing.
Apple also warns that the substances such as the lotions, soapy water, sunscreen and the environments like being inside a sauna or steam bath, might wear the water-resistant seals of the Apple Watch.
As for the band of the Apple Watch, you need to buy the water-resistant one because not all of them are water-resistant.
