There is nothing worse of disease than having cancer and according to estimate, it has took the lives of almost hundreds of thousands of people in the last few years. But there is one guy whose will to live was so great that he beat this disease down to peg and lived. The name of the little guy is Kristian who was born with a rare cognitive disorder called Down Syndrome and was later diagnosed to have Leukemia while he was still an infant. The little guy still fought against all odds to prove that he is a born warrior at heart.
Kristian received treatments for cancer for several rounds and after that, he was cleared to not have cancer anymore. Since then 11 months have passed and Kristian’s father named Kenny Thomas cannot be happier than he is right now. In fact, he is so happy that he is still celebrating the victory of his son against such a deadly disease. This time he decided to celebrate the victory of his son with a special dance that he posted online.
Both Kristian and Kenny danced to a song of Lil Mama and also recorded it on video. The video since being posted online on Instagram has been seen for tens of thousands of times by now on all of Kenny’s other social media accounts as well. People actually love every second of this amazing video that not only shows happiness but also the struggle and courage behind this moment. The viewers thanked the father-son duo for warming up their day with this adorable video and they love the familial bond between the two.
Kristian was only 14 months old when he was diagnosed with Cancer, said Kenny to media. He continues, “Kristian was born with a type of Down Syndrome called Trisomy 21. In addition to this, when he was born, he had a rare blood disorder which led to him having very few platelet cells. For the first few months of his life, Kristian was undergoing blood work on him to keep his condition stable. He received blood work nearly every other week. With back to back fevers, we were shocked to know that he also suffered from Leukemia.”
“After he was found to have Leukemia, he was also to undergo a surgery that very same day. Before the Chemotherapy treatment was about to start on my son, I went to do a little prayer and talk with God. I went to pray to God with my whole family. We knew that in order for Kristian to beat the Cancer, we all need to have the right mindset and also develop the atmosphere of positivity around our son all the time.
In order to make the most of this devastatingly difficult time of his life, Thomas, who owns the Kenny Clutch Dancing Studio in New Jersey, started to record the battle of his son against Cancer as he broke it down courageously, on camera. He started posting a series of videos in which he and Kristian would be seen dancing with each milestone they achieved in the treatment of Kristian.
The videos were posted with #FightChristian and these videos have garnered hundreds of thousands of views and heartwarming responses from viewers all across the world.
Thomas says, “I and my wife own a dance studio by the name ‘The Level Dance Complex’. I am a hip-hop dancer and instructor by profession and now I also am a professional motivational speaker. On the 8th day of being in the hospital, in order to train myself due to the Studio being shut down for focusing on Kristian’s recovery, I started dancing with my son. As I danced with my son, he enjoyed it really very much. We decided to amok this something a positive step in his recovery to keep it going.”
Then Kristian and Thomas went on to win the social media challenge put up by Ciara titled “Level Up”. This dance was in honor of Kristian undergoing his first treatment of Chemotherapy at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia In last year’s June. The family was even awarded by a special visit from the pop star.

All this positivity really impacted on Kristian’s health as he was able to defeat cancer in less time than what was really expected. His whole treatment process was to be for 300 days but he was able to beat the Leukemia completely in only 149 days.
Kenny said, “This cancer was really bad for us as we lost our dance studio which was nearly 65 percent of our income and now our home is also up for sale by the owner. Now we are fighting for securing it. Still, through all this, we are keeping a positive mindset as we still put our faith in God. We are certain that we will overcome this all and our journey is going to be an inspiration and Testimony to everyone in the world to never ever give up. Fight with everything you have got till the very end even if you do not feel like it. The real battle has already been won by us; we just need to go through to claim the victory that is lying in wait for us to come.”
Kenny lastly said, “Whenever you are hit with negativity or adversity in your life, only take a step back and fully experience that situation instead of receiving it.”
The last sentence he said can be the millennial proverb which reads, “When we change the game, we change the mind.”
