How-to guide for setting up and using the Fitbit Pay

Fitbit launched their Fitbit Pay, back in 2017 and at the moment, Fitbit offers its users an ability for paying money via their smartwatch and the tracker on 4 of its following devices.

Back in 2019, Fitbit also partnered with some selected cities for letting the customers of Fitbit pay their public transit fees via Fitbit Pay.

For those of you who want to have the ability to make mobile payments via their Fitbit smartwatch and the Fitbit Pay, we present the how-to guide for the entire thing.

First check if the bank is supported or not:-

This is the most important step of all. Although Fitbit Pay does support almost hundreds of major banks across the world, the user still needs to confirm if their bank qualifies for Fitbit Pay or not; especially if the user’s bank is the part of the Credit Union. The following are the countries that support Fitbit Pay.

Setting up the PIN:-

If a user’s bank is on the aforementioned list of countries that support Fitbit Pay, then the next step on way is to open up the app of Fitbit on your smartphone.

Then tap on the avatar located on the top left corner of the screen. Choose from the list of devices on which the user wishes to enable the Fitbit Pay and then select the “Wallet”.

The next page will offer the user to set up their private 4 digits security PIN code for confirming their future transactions via Fitbit Pay.

Adding the Debit or Credit Card:-

After the user sets up their PIN code, they have the option of entering their credit or debit card number or also the option of placing the iPASS if they are living in Taiwan. Most people choose the first option.

Follow the steps which are straight forward for entering the credit or debit card information and then tap on “Next” and then on Agree to the terms & services of Fitbit Pay.

This will allow for Fitbit to confirm the validity date of the user’s card.

Users can go ahead and enter multiple card numbers; 6 on the Versa and Ionic devices and 5 on Charge 3.

Making The Payments:-

After this users will be able to make their payments with their credit card number on the Fitbit Pay on the places with credit card terminals that support the NFC payment solutions.

For paying, user either needs to swipe down on their Ionic or Versa screen for finding the Wallet icon or they can hold the left button for about 2 seconds to bring it on the Charge 3 SE. after this, user needs to select the card from which they want to make the payment through and hover their Fitbit smartwatch over the respective payment terminal.

After the user receives the confirmation from the said payment terminal, their payment would have been processed.

Managing the Cards:-

If a user wishes to review their transaction, or wishes to update or even remove their card from the account on Fitbit Pay, they need to go back to the section “Wallet” in their Fitbit app and follow these steps.

Tap on the card, they wish for viewing the transactions they made from it recently.

Scroll down for suspending the card if a user is either traveling or has lost access temporarily to their credit card or their Fitbit device.
They can also remove their card entirely in this section.
This section also allows the users to check the privacy policy of their card and can also contact the bank which issued the said card.
