Dog and Cat lovers assemble for the duo of the Pixie and Brutus; a webcomic series which shows the life of a little cute joyful kitten and her big German Sheppard friends with a scarred face. Ben Hed, the cartoonist by profession and creator of Pixie and Brutus told media that he started these comics as a funny idea for a comic. But when he started posting it, people on the internet really warmed up to this series and he decided to keep on making more of them. Now the Instagram page for Pixie and Brutus has over 1.7 million followers. All of these followers eagerly wait to read the humor and playful storylines that bring them a blissful joy. If you are an old leader of this comic or a new one, this animal friendship will warm your heart when you read it and a large smile on your face.
The fandom of Pixie and Brutus is growing quite rapidly and thus Ben Hed decided to launch a line of their merchandise. The last time when Ben talked with media, he told that the plans for making the Brutus; the dog plushies, and Pixie; the cute kitten plushies were in the works. Now it seems that we can them for buying really soon. Ben said, “yes, but we are going to start by selling Pixie plushies. There is a need to make some changes but if I was to give a date, I would say that it would take about 3 more months before we start selling them. If we are able to sell enough of these Pixie Plushies, we will move on to making plushies for other characters too.”
Keeping up with fandom demands for more comics might be a little bit too much pressure for some folks but for Hed, he used it as a motivator. Hed says that he was only worried before he started the Pixie and Brutus comic and not after it got popular. The increase in the following of this comic still shocks Ben.
Ben is not pressured by his fans instead he feels inspiration by reading their comments.
With the evolution of Pixie and Brutus, Hed is now a full-time cartoon illustrator. Although for Ben, he misses the sun; his characters have lively daily lives.
So the question now is what can one expect from the future adventure of the Pixie and Brutus duo? Hed says that he only focused on making enjoyable comics but he says there is room for more dreams. He said, “I think it would be really cool if they are adapted for a TV show but this is something a long, long term goal of mine. It might never happen but it might one day.”
